#TakeMyHand Challenge & Winners
Sponsored by Friends of Bata, the #TakeMyHand challenge ended July 15, 2022, and awarded a $1,500 cash pool to be split amongst 15 winners:
Have you ever helped someone without expecting anything in return? For a chance to win cash prizes, post a photo or a 1-min video with the hashtag #TakeMyHand telling us about your experience! Do you feel that helping others affected you or those around you? Why should more people help others? Whether it's baking cookies for your classmates, teaching someone how to read, or simply lending a listening ear, each act of kindness has the potential to make a real difference in someone's life.
For this challenge, we asked Goodwallers to share videos or text posts about their experiences or ideas for spreading kindness and how even small acts of kindness can make great differences in people's lives.
Marie Rose Nimubona
Burundi
Check out their Goodwall profile page and their winning entry.
Hi Marie Rose, could you tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Marie Rose Nimubona from Burundi. I am married and a mother of four children, two boys and two girls. In everyday life, I am a civil servant, and I work as a doctor in a vaccination program. I follow my master’s studies in public health, and, on top of that, I’m an actress and I love it.
Congratulations on winning the #TakeMyHand Challenge! Could you give us a little background into your idea?
I like to help people in difficult situations, especially orphans and children. From the little salary that I earn monthly, I put aside some of it for orphans. I had this idea because I have been an orphan since the age of six, and I tasted this misfortune of living without parents. People must help each other, because no one is self-sufficient, no one can live without the contribution of his neighbor. And besides, help and having pity is divine law.
Do you have any ideas on what you'll do with your prize?
Once the prize is awarded to me, I will continue my acts of charity. Besides, it’s time for the start of the school year, and the prize will contribute to the school fees of my orphan children whom I follow
Finally, how did you learn about Goodwall? And, what do you think about your Goodwall experience to date?
I knew Goodwall from my Burundian friend, Emile Bimenyimana. I am happy with what I have become today on Goodwall. I’m able to share my actions and learn to draw from the experiences of others through Goodwall.

#Pitch Challenge & Winners
The #Pitch challenge is one of our most popular Goodwall hashtags, an ongoing, purpose-driven innovation campaign we use for various themes and issues. The current version asks members to participate by sharing business ideas to make our communities a better place for all, with a prize of $100 for each chosen winner!
Win $100 for your idea! In a 1-min video, pitch a business idea that could make your community better! We all want to make our communities better places to live, work, and play. But how can your business idea make a difference? Tell us about it!
Perhaps you're creating a business that offers jobs to people who would otherwise have difficulty finding them. Or maybe you're trying to make life easier for people in your community by introducing a product, such as healthier food options, or a service, such as babysitting. Whatever your business idea is, just tell us how it can make your community a better place!
Besides winning cash prizes, you could inspire others to think about ways to improve their communities through their own local business idea!
Micaella Orbista
The Philippines
Check out their Goodwall profile page and their winning entry.
Hi Micaella, could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hello! As you know, I am Micaella Orbista, and I am one of the July #Pitch winners of Goodwall.
Congratulations on winning the #Pitch Challenge! Could you give us a little background into your idea?
In my [winning] video, I explain and propose a non-governmental organization (NGO) just for abandoned pets and stray animals. I believe it’s not always we humans who need help, but also the animals of our communities. The story behind this NGO is that I myself am a foster mom to my three cats. I adopted them because they had no home to live in, and I believe it’s better to give help than to receive it.
Do you have any ideas on what you'll do with your prize?
With regards to the prize, I’ll spend it on my cats and give them a lot of treats, as well as cat food and some cat accessories and cat essentials they need for everyday living. If I am given the chance, I would like to make that non-governmental organization a successful project so that it’s not only my cats which will benefit from that but also other strays in the community.
Finally, how did you learn about Goodwall? And, what do you think about your Goodwall experience to date?
Goodwall is so fulfilling, and I am so happy to have discovered this platform where I can share my thoughts with regards to some others that Goodwall shares, and also some life lessons I learned throughout my life.

#WeDonate Challenge & Winners
Our #WeDonate challenge ended on July 31, 2022, and aimed to gather the community’s stories about donating, whether money, used clothing, or something else.
It's all about what you do! For a chance to win cash prizes, post a photo or a 1-min video with the hashtag #WeDonate telling us about the time you donated! We'd love to hear what you did and how it made a difference in someone's life, whether it was clothing, toys, blood, time, or anything else you thought they might need. Remember, the power to help people, families, and communities is in every person's hands. And your story might inspire others to give back to their communities as well!
In this challenge, we awarded $100 prizes to 15 different Goodwallers who shared their thoughts and ideas around donating to help their communities:
George Chukwudi
Nigeria
Check out their Goodwall profile page and their winning entry.
Hi George, could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hello everyone, my name is George Chukwudi, I’m from Nigeria. I’m a graduate in accounting, and I love social life, I love socializing with people, I love making friends, I love communicating with people from different places, I love music, I love dancing, and I love making a good impact on everyone around me.
Congratulations on winning the #WeDonate Challenge! Could you give us a little background into your idea?
The background of my story is to share love, to share whatever I have, to help others to live. This gives hope to them to live for more. Really, it’s all about myself, as I have struggled in the past, I know that there are people who have shown love to me, and that’s the love I need to show to others. When I look at suffering children on the streets, I felt it, and I know that they need my help and they need whatever I can give to them for them to live.
Do you have any ideas on what you'll do with your prize?
Utilizing this prize is all about helping the orphans and the children begging on the streets and the pregnant women among them. It’s all about housing them or taking them to a nearby orphanage house where they can get clothing, food, and rest. For the pregnant women, you can sponsor them to allow them to get healthcare at a nearby medical center.
Finally, how did you learn about Goodwall? And, what do you think about your Goodwall experience to date?
I learned about Goodwall from U-Report. When I was in school, there was this team that came up to our school and they introduced us to different kinds of programs. And they’re in association with UNICEF, so really I enjoy partaking in such programs. So far, it’s been a wonderful experience on Goodwall. I learned a lot, and I’ve been one of the beneficiaries. When I say “beneficiaries,” it’s not just about winning, it’s about learning great things and new things every day. When I watch other Goodwallers’ videos, I learn from them, their ideas and their skills, and you meet people from different places. Goodwall is awesome, it’s something good! I love it.

#OneWorld Challenge & Winners
The #OneWorld challenge ended on September 15, 2022, and awarded a $150 cash prize pool to each of 10 winners:
Meeting people will take you around the world! Share a photo or a 1-min video, telling us about the time when you got along with someone from a different country or culture, and what you took away from your time with them! Did you become a part of their tribe? Maybe getting to know them opened your eyes to a whole new world and helped you grow. What's your best tip for meeting people from all walks of life?
Your story could inspire someone to open up to others!
For this challenge, we asked Goodwallers around the world to communicate their experiences from a time in their lives when they got along with someone from a different country or culture. As you’ll see if you flip through the winning entries below, we certainly learned a lot of great lessons and shared some wonderful tips!
Elina Haber
Lebanon
Check out their Goodwall profile page and their winning entry.
Hi Elina, could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a high school senior from Lebanon, a Middle Eastern country.
Congratulations on winning the #OneWorld Challenge! Could you give us a little background into your idea?
For the #OneWorld challenge, I talk about how many things I, as a Lebanese citizen, have in common with my Uzbekistani friends. This includes speaking multiple languages, international friendships, and, most importantly, passion. I would advise others to normalize meeting different kinds of people with hopes that guardians and parents will raise their children to treat everyone the same way.
Do you have any ideas on what you'll do with your prize?
To be honest, I am undecided about how I want to use my prize, but I think I would prefer giving it to my mother, especially to pay off her hospital fees.
Finally, how did you learn about Goodwall? And, what do you think about your Goodwall experience to date?
I learned about Goodwall from my international friends, and this shows how passionate and worldly my worldwide friends are. And, I can say that this application is my favorite alternative to the typical meaningless social media the vast majority of society tends to consume.
